PURPOSE:To provide an ink high in image fixing properties and water and solvent resistances despite a liq. ink contg. water as a solvent; and a quick- drying ink jet printer wherein that ink is used. CONSTITUTION:A liq. ink for use in an ink jet printer comprises a polyamide- carboxylic acid salt as the binder, a colorant, and 10-90wt.%. water as a solvent. The ink jet printer is provided with a unit for heat-fixing an image formed on paper, whereby an image can be fixed quickly despite use of water as a solvent as compared with air drying. The ink jet printer involves no fear of causing a fire by ignition, etc., and is therefore useful in offices. |
