摘要 PURPOSE:To accurately measure a roll interval. CONSTITUTION:Distance detectors 1, 5 (2, 6) are so mounted at the bearings 12, 13 of stationary rolls 10 as to be opposed to the rolling surface 20a (30a) of a movable roll 20 (30). An interval to the surface 20a (30a) is measured at each predetermined time by the detectors l, 5 (2, 6). The one revolution of the roll 20 (30) is detected by a rotation sensor 61 (63). The mean value of the roll interval or a standard deviation of the one revolution of the roll 20 (30) is calculated, and displayed on a display unit 81. Thus, since the distance of the roll surface to the surface of the shaft of the roll is directly detected, only the mounting accuracy of the detector affects the influence of the accuracy of the roll interval, its calibration becomes easy, and an error is scarcely introduced to the roll interval. The deviation of the roll, the contamination of the roll surface, the influence of the signal noise can be eliminated, and the roll interval can be accurately obtained.
