PURPOSE:To reduce cost by installing a folding blade with saw blade receiver on one drum and also a saw blade and a clamping device on the other drum so as to eliminate a lap drum in a parallel folding machine in which a parallel fold section and a cut ' section cut near the position corresponding to that fold section can be formed by a pair of drums. CONSTITUTION:A web folded into two parts which is passed through a triangle plate is first fed between a saw drum 22 and a folding drum 23, cut off by a saw blade device 13e and a saw blade receiver 14c and, at the same time, the forward portion of the cut part is picked through, held, and rotated by a needle device 15c. During the rotation, the web is re-cut by one rotation of the saw drum 22 to form a section of L in length. For this section, the lengthwise center part of the section is inserted between the clamping plate 34 and the seat 35 of a clamping device 26 of a clamping drum 24 by the folding blade 30 of a folding blade device 25 while the needle device 15c is pulled in from the circumferential surface of the folding drum 23 by a cam device, and formed into parallel fold sections of L/2 in length or two cut fold sections according to the position of the saw blade device 13d of the clamping device 26. |
