PURPOSE:To burn and regenerate particulates collected in a particulate filter without using a heater or a burner in a relatively small loading space. CONSTITUTION:A particulate collector 13 is provided in an exhaust pipe 12 connected to the exhaust manifold 11 of an engine 10. A particulate filter 14 is housed in the downstream of exhaust gas in the collector 13 and an oxidizing catalyst 16 is housed in the upstream of exhaust gas in the collector 13. Electronic controlled accumulating type injectors 17a to 17f mounted on the respective cylinders of the engine 10, whose injection amount and injection time are adjusted by a solenoid valve respectively, inject fuel to the respective cylinders. Pressure sensors 41 and 42 detect that particulates with the amount more than a prescribed amount are collected in the filter 14 and a controller 33 controls the solenoid valve to inject the fuel to the cylinders immediately before closing of the exhaust valves of the cylinders, based on the detected outputs of the pressure sensors 41 and 42. |
