A centralizer stop is described which includes a body attachable to a drive rod. The body has a centralizer contact face. The contact face has an outer peripheral edge and an inner drive rod edge. Passages are provided in the contact face. The passages extend from adjacent the inner drive rod edge to the outer peripheral edge. Rotation of the body with the drive rod results in sand accumulations in the passage being expelled by centrifugal force.
