Gas sampling and measurement device, esp. for use with radioactive gas

A device for sampling and measurement of gas samples, particularly air containing radioactive nuclides, comprises a housing (4) in which is fitted a probe sample head and several measurement instruments. The probe sampling head is driven out by a linear drive and held in position by a drive rod (16). The head comprises a housing (1), with a sample taking opening and several filter support rings (9,12) around which are positioned several filters (17/1,17/2). The filters are arranged around a central core cylinder (8). The probe sample head housing (1), filter rings and core cylinder are a tight fit together. The probe sampling head housing (1) has one or more guide rods which are inserted into guide grooves (15), in the outer filter support ring (15). The inner filter support ring (9) has a locking and guide element (14), comprised of an insertable spring and an adjustable locking pin, which is joined to the core cylinder (8) by means of an opening (13) within a radial guide groove (10). Further, the inner ring (9) has a bevel gear ring (2) which mates with a bevel pinion (3) which is joined to a drive motor. The core cylinder (8) has a hollow rod (5) which, on one side, is joined to the pump and on the other ends in an air channel (18). By the use of a motor mounted in the sample head, the filter rings (9,12) can be rotated so that a series of filters can be used in sequence to give quasi-continuous sampling.
