<p>PURPOSE: To provide a stretched multilayered film having a specific stretching ratio and specific oxygen permeability, containing no chlorine and is capable of maintaining oxygen barrier characteristics in the presence of a proper amt. of moisture. CONSTITUTION: A multilayered film 20 includes a barrier layer 21 and stretching compatible polymer layers 22, 23. The barrier layer 21 has a thickness of about 0.01-0.75 mil and contains polymerized ethylene vinyl alcohol with an ethylene content of about 34-60 wt.%, and the stretching compatible polymer layers 22, 23 have a modulus of at least about 4×10<4> psi. This multilayered film has a stretching ratio of at least 9 and stretched at a temp. of about 165-212 deg.F and oxygen permeability at a relative humidity of 0% with about 0.1-6 cm<3> -mil/ day-m<2> -atm, and the total thickness of the stretching compatible layers 22, 23 is 0.49-4.5 mil and the barrier layer 21 occupies about 2-15 vol.% of the multilayered film 20, and the multilayered film 20 has a thickness of about 0.5-5 mil.</p> |
