PURPOSE:To reduce the cost and to improve the reliability by simplifying the circuit configuration of the controller for an air conditioner, and decreasing the number of the components. CONSTITUTION:The controller for an air conditioner comprises a converter 2 for converting an AC power into a DC power, and so controls an IGBT 2a included in the converter 2 and supplies the output DC voltage from the converter 2 to an inverter 4 for controlling a compressor 3. The DC voltage of the converter 2 is detected by a DC voltage detector 12, and an input AC current is detected by a current detector 11. A microcomputer 13 for controlling the inverter 4 calculates a current command according to data stored based on the detected voltage, compares the detected current with the command to obtain the ON ratio of a PWM signal for controlling the IGBT 2a, and outputs the PWM signal for controlling the IGBT 2a. |
