PURPOSE:To enhance the memory function of form data by providing a form discrimination data buffer storing form content describing data containing the discrimination data of the form data stored in a form data buffer. CONSTITUTION:In a printer receiving the form data and text data transmitted from a host computer 6 and sythesizing them to perform form overlay printing, a form control circuit 3 refers to the form content describing data stored in a form discrimination data buffer 4 when the form data is transmitted from the host computer 6. When the form data is not stored in a form data buffer 5, the form data is stored in the form data buffer 5. When the form data is already stored in the form data buffer 5, this form data is thrown away after a single reading. By this constitution, the overlap development of the form data becomes unnecessary. |
