PURPOSE:To simulate the results of distance measurements taken by an ultrasonic sonar with high accuracy even if the surface of an object is not perpendicular to the ultrasonic reflection wave or double or triple reflection takes place. CONSTITUTION:The value of the directional characteristics of an ultrasonic sonar 10 is sliced for every angle and the mirror reflection of the object 11, 12, 13 is assumed for every ultrasonic beam thus generating a new ultrasonic beam using the reflection, coefficient of each object. During the process repeating the mirror reflection, intensity of the ultrasonic beam is attenuated gradually due to the influence of reflection and the propagation characteristics. The operation is repeated until the ultrasonic beam can not be received by the ultrasonic sonar 10. The flight distance data of ultrasonic beam is determined, when it is received, for each sliced beam and the shortest one is employed as a measurement. |
