X=ray diagnostic device with a solid-state image converter

An X-ray diagnostic device has a high voltage generator supplying and X-ray tube which emits a beam of X-rays, a detector positioned in the path of the X-ray beam to record the X-ray dose, and a transducer which controls the high voltage supply, where the solid-state detector has a semiconductor layer (9) on which is arranged a matrix array of light sensitive pixel elements made up of electrode layers (11,12) and electrically non-conducting layers (10,13). One electrode layer (12) is used as the detector and the pixel element acts as a condenser. The condenser is charged by exposure to X-rays and the charge is proportional to the X-ray dose. These dose-related charges provide the signals used by the transducer to record the X-ray dose.
