The mower includes a transmission device (12) to transfer movement from the combustion engine (8) to the two rear drive wheels (11). This transmission device has a double independent hydrostatic transfer to the drive wheels. A corresponding hydrostatic pump motor assembly (22) is connected to each of these drive wheels (11). The transmission device comprises a first belt pulley (24) fitted on the drive shaft (23) of the combustion engine (8), and a belt (25) which engages in the first pulley and into two second belt pulleys (26) of which each one is mounted on a shaft of the pump of each assembly (22). Two reduction gears transfer the movement from drive shaft to each drive wheel hub (32).
