<p>A pin 1; 33, 34 can be displaced axially in a straight guide 2; 35 and is connected to drive means 20, 22, 24; 44, 45, 46 for the oscillating displacement of the or each pin 1; 33, 34. A free end of the or each pin 1; 33, 34 is provided with a cutter 3; 36, 37 which projects radially from the said pin. The or each pin can be fitted through an incision. By then displacing the or each pin in an oscillating manner, cells of the lens nucleus are fragmented by the correspondingly oscillating cutter, in the area of the cutter. The proposed instrument can be produced at very low cost, is easy to handle and can be used without having to supply cooling liquid. <IMAGE></p> |
