System for heating in machines for binding loose sheets of paper which use thermal adhesive. A machine has been designed which uses a system of heating by means of infrared rays which comprises the following components: a source generating infrared rays 9; a semi-cylindrical concave reflective surface 8; a plastic support or base which is transparent to the infrared rays 5; two adjustable/removable lateral supports in whose lower base a reflective material 3 is applied; a covering casing 7. The infrared rays 6 pass without resistance through the transparent plastic base 5, directly reaching the spine 4 of the binding cover 2, rapidly melting the thermal adhesive impregnated therein. <IMAGE>
