A power steering system for a vehicle comprises a longitudinally-movable tie rod actuating the steerable wheels and extending transversely across the chassis, a piston-and-cylinder motor arranged substantially transversely of the chassis and with its two elements pivoted, respectively, to the chassis and the tie rod, and a control valve mounted upon an extremity of the tie rod.
