<p>The windscreen wiper comprises an elongated arm (1) incorporating a flexible blade (7), which is pressed into contact with the curved surface to be cleaned. The blade is mounted onto the arm in such a way that deformation in a plane, to match the curvature of the glass, is allowed. A flexible deflector (22), also of elongated form, is deflected by the flow of air to result in a cleaning force onto the windscreen which is proportional to the speed of the vehicle. The deflector is in contact with the wiper arm at three or more points along the length of the arm, so that the deflection of the flexible blade is transferred to the deflector. Both the wiper arm and the deflector are fitted with sliding guides, which ensure that the deflector carries the same deformation as the blade. <IMAGE></p> |
