An orthopaedic insole for correcting adduction of the big toe comprises a calcaneal shell (1) resembling a foot bed, the front edge (2) of which lies roughly below the ball of the big toe. A correction wing (3), the inner surface (7) of which has a slightly concave arch, is formed on the sides to support and guide the big toe. Reinforcing ribs (4) are formed on the outside in the region of transition between the correction wing (3) and the calcaneal shell (1). The lower edge (5) of the correction wing (3) is curved upwards in order to avoid impairment of the rolling movement on walking. Due to the particular shape and the use of an elastic, thermoplastic material, the correction wing (3) is swung inwards on walking, as indicated by the arrow (9), up to the position (3') shown with a dash-dotted line. The false posture of the big toe is actively corrected thereby.

|
