In a pipe joint between two heat-insulated pipe sections 1, 2 which each consist of a medium pipe 3 on the inside made of plastic, which is surrounded by a protective pipe 4 made of metal, which is in turn surrounded by insulation 7, and a pipe cover 8 on the outside, the medium pipe 3 is continuous in the joint, and the ends of the protective pipes 4 are arranged at a distance from one another. Mounted on the medium pipe 3 is a fastening arrangement 11, for example in the form of a pipe sleeve, which bears against the ends of the two protective pipes 4 by means of an elastic spacer ring 12. Arranged outside the joint is insulation 14 and, on the outside, a waterproof cover 15. The medium pipe 3 is secured, and the forces which arise as a result of thermal movements of the medium pipe can be absorbed in the protective pipe and, from there, transferred to a pipe support. <IMAGE>
