PURPOSE:To obtain a lubricant useful for spinning of yarn, etc., capable of freely controlling its own viscosity and nonvolatility, having excellent biodegradability, stability to thermal oxidation, resistance to hydrolysis, fluidity at a low temperature, and low toxicity, essentially containing the ester of specific estolide and hindered alcohols. CONSTITUTION:This lubricant essentially contains an ester synthesized from the following compounds (A) and (B) : (A) an estolide being an oxyfatty acid oligomer of a dimer or larger units derived from mutual condensation of fatty acids each having OH-groups, or condensation of a fatty acid such as (hydrogenerated) fatty acid of castor oil with a fatty acid having no OH-group ; (B) hindered alchols such as one or more kinds of alchols selected from the group of trimethylolpropane, pentaerythritol, dipentaerythritol, neopentylglycol and trimethylolethane. |
