Air mass flow meter for suction duct of IC engine

The mass flow meter includes a housing section (6) held by a carrier (3), which contains a temp. measurement sensor (4), and an electric heating element (10) which is arranged behind a mass flow sensor (5) in the flow direction (11) in a suction duct (2). The heating element is regulated to a fixed temp. value and is operated with a constant heating power output. The established temp value is altered, depending on the regulation of the temp of the mass flow sensor. A heating element with a positive temperature coefficient or PTC characteristic can be used to facilitate temp regulation in narrow temp range.
