The freezer or fridge/freezer combination has a plinth (20) which is fitted with a plinth cover (44), with the water obtained during de-frosting of the refrigeration evaporator, fed through a drainage channel (22) with a number of sections, for collection in a container (15) placed in front of the plinth cover. One of the channel sections (24) is fitted flush with the plinth cover, a lower section (37) able to slide outwards from it, to project over the edge of the water reception container and pushed inwards to lie flush with the first channel section when not in use.
