"Protein garant" (compsn. for increasing the protein content of crops) comprises a neutral aq. soln. contg. urea and chitosan. The urea concn. corresponds to an N content 150-200 g/l and the chitosan concn. is 0.2-10 g/l. Also claimed is a process for increasing the protein content of cereal crops, comprising spraying a compsn. as above on the foliage between the ear swelling stage and the flowering stage.
