Method of cleaning pipes containing liquids

The method uses at least one ejector. A scavenging fluid is pumped through the ejector, and entrains any fluid contained in the pipe. The ejector is connected to a tank via a hose and is lowered into the bottom section of the pipe to be cleaned, within a mainly vertical shaft. The ejector is positioned, so that the pumped fluid moves towards the hose. The fluid is pumped from the tank via the hose, through a nozzle insert in the ejector. The ejector is withdrawn using a hose retraction device. The pumping process is repeated, and dirty water is removed in two further stages.
