<p>A method of cleaning and recycling a cleaning solvent including the steps of treating mass of cleaning solvent having a flashpoint of greater than 100 °F and having not more than 20 % aromatic solvents and the remainder aliphatic and other solvents with from about 0.5 up to about 5 parts per hundred of solvent of a treating composition selected from C5-C10 alcohols, C5-C10 diols, C5-C10 glycols, and C5-C10 glycol ethers, and mixtures of the alcohols, diols, glycols, and glycol ethers, clarifying the solvent by adding thereto from about 0.01 up to about 5 pph of a clarifying agent and up to 5 pph of water to provide a clarified volume of solvent, recycling the solvent by distilling, and thereafter repeating the recycling, clarifying and distilling steps.</p> |
