A fitting for joining construction elements made of wood, in particular panel elements and beam constructions, comprises a first and a second fitting part 1; 9 for fastening to, respectively, a side surface of a first and an end surface of a second construction element. The first fitting part 1 comprises at least one plate section 3; 4, in which a cutout is made in the form of an essentially rectilinear groove 5, 6 with an opening 7, 8 at one edge of the plate section. The second fitting part 9 is designed as a cross-sectionally essentially T-shaped element in the form of a raised rib 10 which fits in the groove 5, 6 in the first fitting part and has on one side essentially symmetrical projecting flange parts 11, 12. After the second fitting part 9 has been introduced through the opening 7, 8 for the groove 5, 6 in the first fitting part 1 and the raised rib 10 has been inserted into the groove 5, 6, the flange parts 11, 12 are secured between the first fitting part 1 and said side surface of the first construction element. <IMAGE>
