MANUFACTURE OF FIBER REINFORCED THERMOPLASTIC RESIN COMPOSITION AND PREFORMED BODY USING THE COMPOSITION

PURPOSE:To protect reinforcing fibers from getting broken or marked in a mixing process in air flow of thermoplastic resin powder constituting a matrix with reinforced fibers and manufacture a fiber reinforced resin composition for manufacturing a molded body of good mechanical properties, particularly good toughness, flexural properties and impact properties and also a preformed body using the composition. CONSTITUTION:When thermoplastic matrix resin powder is mixed with reinforcing fibers in air flow to manufacture a fiber reinforced thermoplastic resin composition, the surfaces of the reinforcing fibers are coated preliminarily with resin of the same kind as thermoplastic matrix resin or having affinity with thermoplastic resin having affinity with matrix resin.
