A retaining device 20 for application to ball-race bearings of the angular contact type comprising an outer ring 12, a pair of adjacent inner half-rings 10, 11 and 2 ball races 40 each located between the outer ring and one of the two inner half-rings capable of holding half-ring 11 in a position facing the interior of the vehicle during the stages of assembly and transfer which precede mounting of the bearing on the wheel hub. The device comprises a body 20 of substantially annular shape which is mounted frontally on outer ring 12 close to the outside of inner half-ring 11 and comprises flexible elastic flaps 23 for rapid fitting and fixing on outer ring 12 and for axially stopping balls 40. Device 20 is capable of preventing emptying of outer half-ring 11 by stopping balls 40 which remain blocked between flaps 23 and the concave rolling seat 41 present in half- ring 11. <IMAGE> |
