PURPOSE: To provide a simplified method capable of forming the pattern of a waveguide body channel stipulated in a horizontal direction in a polymer optical waveguide body. CONSTITUTION: In the method for forming a polymer optical waveguide body component for adopting a waveguide material for receiving the change of a refractive index at the time of receiving the irradiation of an appropriate wavelength provided with a process for changing the refractive index of the uncovered part of the waveguide material by providing a mask for selectively covering the part of the waveguide material in the waveguide material and irradiating the waveguide material through the mask, the mask is developed photoresist practically non-transmissive to the irradiation wavelength. |
