PURPOSE:To easily execute the processing in which tempo is varied without changing the pitch of a voice. CONSTITUTION:This decoder is provided with a reader 2 which reads the voice signals stored in a memory 1 and sub-band divided at the timing corresponding to an inputted control signal s1 and a control signal generator 9 which generates the signal s1 so that the voice signals stored in the memory 1 are read at a time interval different than the time interval set at the time of coding. Thus, the voice signals are taken out at a time interval, which differs from the time interval at the time of sub-band dividing the voice signal, in accordance with the signal s1 generated by the generator 9 and voice signals are synthesized in a tempo different from the tempo set at the time of sub-band dividing the voice signal while the original voice signal waveforms are kept as they are. Thus, complicated processes are not required to analyze the waveforms of the original voice signals and only the tempo is changed without changing the pitch of the reproduced voice. |
