PURPOSE:To obtain a nonlinear resistor excellent in reliability wherein the allowable electric power characteristic of the resistor is comformable to the limited voltage characteristics in a large current region, and thermal runaway is not caused, by setting the loadings of aluminum oxide Al2O3 to be a specific large value, and performing heat treatment in an oxygen atmosphere after sintering. CONSTITUTION:Zinc oxide ZnO is used as the main component, and rare earth elements and aluminum oxide Al2O3 are added as the subcomponent. By mixing, granulation, molding, and sintering, a voltage nonlinear resistor is manufactured. In this manufacturing method, the loadings of aluminum oxide Al2O3 is set to be a specific large value, and heat treatment is performed in 811 oxide atmosphere after sintering. When the loadings of aluminum oxide Al2O3 are combined with the heat treatment condition in the oxygen atmosphere, a region wherein both the allowable electric power characteristics and the limited voltage characteristics in a large current region are suitable is obtained. Thereby a voltage nonlinear resistor excellent in reliability which is free from thermal runaway can be obtained. |
