PURPOSE:To eliminate bursting of a battery and reduction of its capacity and further to improve reliability by forming an element battery sealing an opening part of a zinc negative electrode can with a resin seal partly having a specific thickness, and sheathing this element battery with a metal sheathing can. CONSTITUTION:A metal sheathing pipe 13 is constituted into a cylinder by cylindrically folding a metal plate bent and integrally connecting butt side end parts by laser welding. In a resin seal 5, a disk shape, concentrically having a tubular unit 16 provided with a through hole 15 inserting an upper part of a carbon collector 2 in the central part, outer side tubular unit 17 brought into contact with an opening part 6 of a zinc negative electrode 4 and an arch- shaped connection part 18 connecting between the tubular units 16, 17, is formed. Here is sealed the opening part 6 with the seal 5, having partly a thin thickness part 19 of 0.5mm or more 1.1mm or less thickness, to form an element battery 10, and this element battery 10 is sheathed by a sheath can 13. Then, in the case that an internal pressure rises, the thin thickness part 19 is bursted, to release gas to the outside. |
