PURPOSE:To obtain a method for measuring the water content of resin powder being carried through a screw conveyor accurately. CONSTITUTION:In the method for measuring the water content of resin powder 1 being carried through a screw conveyor 5, an infrared ray absorption water content meter 8 is mounted on the screw conveyor 5. The time when the forward end of the screw 6 in the screw conveyor 5 passes through the measuring region of the water content meter 8 is determined and a controller 9 delivers a signal for starting/stopping the measurement to the water content meter 8.
