Slide bearing part for liquid metal slide bearing used in rotary anode X-ray tube

The slide bearing part has a bearing face (11, 12, 14, 15) which in operation is in contact with a liquid metal (20). The bearing face is provided with a layer (21, 22, 24, 25) of a metal by a PVD process which acts as diffusion barrier for the liquid metal and which can be wetted by the liquid metal very well. In one embodiment the metal which acts as a diffusion barrier has a thermal conductivity of at least 100 W/(m.K). In another embodiment the metal which acts as a diffusion barrier is provided with tungsten or a tungsten alloy.
