The invention concerns a structural assembly consisting of several zones having a profile giving diffractive properties, in particular for use as visually identifiable security elements on documents of value such as banknotes, credit cards, permits and cheques, as well as other objects requiring protection. The structural assembly has a first group of zones with a first diffractive structure located on part of the surface of the assembly and at least one additional group of zones with a diffractive structure differing from the first. In order to improve such a structural assembly so that, to someone viewing the assembly, a particular item of information is communicated at high intensity uniformly over the whole of a preselected viewing-angle range, the invention proposes that the structure of the zones in the first group of zones or in the at least one additional group of zones is designed such that, when the assembly is illuminated, the visually perceivable information emanating from the zones in different groups is identical when viewed from different angles within the overall viewing-angle range. |
