A machine (10) for the automatic removal of a thin wrapper from a meat product, comprises the combination of a cutting station (15) for carrying out a cut circumferentially of the product in order to sever said wrapper and a station (24) for removal of the cut wrapper. The wrapper-removing station comprises suction mouths (29, 30) adapted to suck the wrapper in, thereby separting it from the product. A heating chamber (21) for the product is present to advantage between the cutting station (15) and wrapper-removing station (24), so that the resistance to removal of the wrapper can be reduced. <MATH>
