PURPOSE: To properly correct a color value in the case of color conversion by comparing a color value provided by scan and conversion with the color value of a test color and calculating corrected color values, corresponding to the color values stored in a conversion table. CONSTITUTION: The test colors of original test picture 33 are measured as reference color values X, Y and Z corresponding to prescribed kinds of color light white using a prescribed spectrophotometer 34. The reference color values X, Y and Z are converted into precise color values L*j(m), a*j(m) and b*j(m) by a color converter 35. There are two methods for finding the corrected color values. First, the corrected color values are stored and next are continuously added to the color values in a conversion table by a corrected value step 37 after a correction phase in original picture running. Secondly, the addition of corrected color values and color values is performed by the correction phase. Next, corrected color values L*KOR, a*KOR and b*KOR are stored in the corrected value step 37 and read out. Thus, mapping conversion or conversion to a correlative processing color space is improved. |
