PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency at the time of editing by applying a prescribed operation to the picture information on a picture developing area and displaying the result of the operation on the picture display contents. CONSTITUTION:The input pictures are read by a picture input/output device 12 based on the logical arithmetic contents selected previously after a reading action in case an input key given from a keyboard 8 is equal to a discontinua tion key and not to an end key for picture reading. A CPU 2 performs the synthesizing process for each dot between the picture information stored in an area RBUF of a RAM 6 and the picture information (within a designated editing range) on an area GBUF opposite to the area RBUF. Then an arithmetic process is carried out for a reading part of the picture memory area GBUF, and the picture information equivalent to the number of lateral dots are reduced properly and transferred to a buffer DBUF for display. Here the synthesized areas are displayed successively on the screen of a display device 20 after conversion into a normal display from a decision display. In the same way, the picture information equivalent to the number of longitudinal dots is pro cessed. |
