A thermally processable image recording material comprises a support and, in one or more layers: (1) Ag halide; (2) a binder; and (3) (the novelty) a developing agent of formula (I); A and Q are either; (a) taken together to represent carbon atoms necessary to complete a 4 to 7-membered alicyclic ring structure of up to 10C; or (b) independently = H, 1-6C alkyl, up to 7C alicyclic gp.; or up to 9C aralkyl (1-3C alkyl and 4-6C aryl). The material is substantially free of, and is thermally processable in the absence of, water and base. |
