PURPOSE:To produce an activated carbon from which a specified element or functional group of an ion exchange resin is removed pollution-freely, and which is activated with gas or a chemical. CONSTITUTION:A chlorine ion type strongly acidic cation exchange resin or an ammonium ion type strongly basic anion exchange resin are used as a starting resin, and the resin is heated and dehydrated at 100-200 deg.C, then, heated at 200-450 deg.C in an inert gas to remove pollution-freely the specified element or functional group in the ion exchange resin. A produced resin (char) is activated with gas or a chemical to obtain the objective spherical activated carbon. |
