PURPOSE:To obtain a new polyimide which can be produced by firing at low temperatures for a short time and is useful for a liquid crystal aligning film excellent in the ability to align liquid crystals without causing the fading deterioration of a color filter, etc., in producing a liquid crystal cell. CONSTITUTION:This polyimide comprises structural units represented by formulae I and II, wherein, m is an integer of 2-20; n is 1 or 2; r is 1-20 C alkyl or alkoxy; and A is phenyl or 3,3',4,4'-biphenyl. |
