PURPOSE:To obtain the subject nonwoven fabric, consisting essentially of natural fibers and finished with a polymer by forming strains such as unevennesses or wrinkles on a nonwoven fabric consisting essentially of the natural fibers and then finishing the resultant fabric with a polymer so as to retain the shape thereof. CONSTITUTION:This nonwoven fabric is obtained by applying a reactive type polymer composition to a fiber sheetlike material of a nonwoven fabric consisting essentially of natural fibers by printing, spraying, coating, impregnating, etc., drying the resultant nonwoven fabric in a state of uncompleted reactional curing, then carrying out the rubbing processing with a rubbing machine, etc., forming strains such as unevennesses or wrinkles, heat-treating the resultant fabric, reacting and curing the applied reactive type polymer, stably retaining the formed strains, subsequently applying a polymer composition solution (e.g. a polyurethane resin) thereto, immersing and coagulating the prepared fabric in a solution containing nosolvent for the polymer composition solution. The resultant nonwoven fabric finished with the polymer is capable of retaining the shape even by carrying out the dyeing processing thereafter. |
