PRODUCTION OF GRANULAR DETERGENT COMPOSITION HAVING HIGH BULK DENSITY

PURPOSE:To reduce dusting which tends to be a problem when producing a granular detergent composition containing a salt of alpha-sulfo fatty acid ester without using spray drying and obtain a granular detergent composition having a high bulk density. CONSTITUTION:A surfactant paste containing a salt of alpha-sulfo fatty acid ester as the main surfactant and inorganic particles containing an alkali builder other than a silicate are granulated in a mixing granulator or an agitating granulator to give detergent granules (A) having a bulk density of at least 0.5g/cc. The detergent granules (A) and detergent granules (B) containing a sufactant other than a salt of alpha-sulfo fatty acid ester as the main surfactant and having a bulk density of at least 0.5g/cc are subjected to powder mixing at a weight ratio of the granules (A) to (B) of (2:8) to (9:1) to produce a granular detergent composition having a high bulk density.
