An annular seal for socket and spigot concrete pipes has a preferably rubber sealing ring(52) with means(80) for moulding and attaching the ring into the socket at a cylindrical inner surface. A moulding ring(54) is connected with the sealing ring(52) and adapted to be moulded into the socket with said sealing ring. The ring(54) is positioned adjacent the socket free end and positioned axially inside the sealing ring(52). The moulding ring(54) preferably made of cellular rubber or plastic such as polyurethane or polyester provides a receiving space for sealing ring part(56) and space for the spigot end. A base plate moulding tool for fitting the sealing device into the pipe end socket is also disclosed.
