The card has an intermediate film (2) of pref. thermoplastic insulating material (e.g. PVC) covered by two external films (3,4) of the same material. The electronic circuit physically inaccessible from outside consists of a printed circuit connected by two conductors on opposite faces of the intermediate film to the poles of a battery (7) clipped into a recess (8) at one corner. The recess is first formed in the intermediate film and is then filled with a core with shaped edges while the external films are applied. These feature lips (12,13) which remain when the core is withdrawn.
