The four hollow-type polyester fiber is produced by adding 0.9˜3.5wt% titanium dioxide and 0.2˜8.0wt% organic sulfonic acid metal salt of formula RSO3M [R=C3-30 alkyl or C7-40 alkylaryl; M=Na, K, Li, Mg or Ca , esp. sodium sulfonate or potassium sulfonate to reactants of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol at the esterification stage, reacting the mixture at 250 deg.C for 3˜4hr. to obtain a molten polymer, predrying the polymer at 100deg.C for 1˜3 hr., drying it at 130˜150deg.C for 4-7hr. to obtain a dryed chip, spinning the chip at 280deg.C and the spinning speed of 1200˜1400 mpm to obtain a undrawn yarn, and drawing and heat-treating it at 120˜140deg.C. The fiber has an improved heat retaining and pilling property.
