PURPOSE:To make the carrying route of electronic parts shorter in distance. CONSTITUTION:Suction nozzles 9a and 9b are attached to the head 6 of a Cartesian-coordinate robot 2 and electronic part A is carried to a printed wiring board B by operating the robot 2 after the nozzles 9a and 9b attract the part A. An LED 16 and plane mirror 15 are respectively provided on the head 6 of the robot 2 and a Y-axis frame 5 and the image of the part A produced by the light from the LED 16 is reflected to the non-movable area of the head 6. The reflected light is detected with a line sensor 18.
