PURPOSE:To prevent a useless space from being produced in an output image by unifying an output paper size even in the case of copying an original whose size differs. CONSTITUTION:An area detection section 6 detects an image area size from image data read by an image read section 4. Image data and image area data are stored in an image storage section 8. Then a center area size detection section 7 references data of an area size of each page written in the image storage section 8 to detect which kind of area sizes is dominant and to detect the area size as the center area size. A CPU 14 obtains magnification based on set output paper size and the center area size detected by the center area size detection section 7 and commands image recording to an image recording section 17. In the case of image recording, the CPU 14 extracts an area of the image area among image data to transfer the area to the image recording section 17. |
