PURPOSE:To easily select a device to be used in consideration of the physical positions of respective devices by making a display based upon the installation positions of the respective devices when the device to be used is selected. CONSTITUTION:The respective equipments in network environment are installed on the respective 1st floor (1F), 2nd floor (2F), and 3rd floor (3F) of a building and connected by a network (LAN 1300). For example, a computer 1310 gathers device information including status information and installation position information from respective usable devices. For example, a virtual optical scanner 1302 reports status information 'in use' and installation position information '3F-B block'. The computer 1310 when displaying the connected input/output devices displays the installation position information acquired from the respective equipments.
