PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of an electrophotographic photoreceptor by ozone and image blur. CONSTITUTION:The surface of the photoreceptor 1 is provided with a charge implantation layer 12 including a lubricity imparting member and conductive particulates 12a. A contact electrostatic charging member 2 of <=1X10<7>OMEGA which is fixedly arranged is rubbed against the surface of this photoreceptor 1. Voltage is impressed to this contact electrostatic charging member 2 and electrostatic charge by implantation at an electric field of <=2X10<8>V/m is executed in the contact section with the photoreceptor 1. As a result, the electrostatic charge is executed without entailing a discharge phenomenon and generation of ozone is prevented. |
