The hinge consists of a bar (3) on which the window (1) is mounted and which has a part cylindrical section (16) and a part-cylindrical groove (25) into which a part-cylindrical lip (15) of the window frame (2) fits. The fan (3) further has a wide groove (10) along its outer edge. A spring (7) is mounted between a groove (14) in the window frame and the groove (10) in the bar. When the spring engages with one side (12) of the groove, the window is loaded in the closed position. When the window is opened, the bottom of the groove (10) is at a slope so that the end of the spring can slide to the opposite edge of the groove and hold the window in the open position. A bar (4) which is mounted on the window edge acts as stop for the open position of the window.
